The Simera 50mm lens improves on the standard 70 cm minimum focusing distance (MFD) of most M-mount 50mm lenses, offering a shorter 45 cm close focus and a 1:6.4 magnification ratio. This makes it well-suited for portraits, close-ups, and everyday photography.
Thanks to its floating lens elements, the Simera 50mm delivers high resolution and sharpness even at 0.45 m. The focus ring has a resistance point at 0.7 m, indicating when to switch from rangefinder to EVF for accurate focusing at closer distances.

With its fast f/1.4 aperture, the Simera 50mm lens performs exceptionally well in low-light photography. Thanks to high refractive index elements and advanced multi-layer coatings, it achieves light transmission up to T1.5, delivering bright, sharp, and vibrant images.
The 14-blade aperture, built to cine standards, produces smooth, round bokeh and a natural focus falloff, creating a cinematic three-dimensional look. The aperture ring can be switched between clicked and clickless modes, making it easy to move from still photography to video recording for greater creative flexibility.
Advanced optical design for superior image quality
The Simera 50mm lens is built with an 8-element, 6-group optical design that includes one aspherical element, one extra-low dispersion (ED) element, and three high-refractive index (HRI) elements. This advanced construction reduces spherical and chromatic aberrations, delivering natural skin tones and precise detail in both highlights and shadows.
Even at f/1.4, images remain sharp and clear. The HRI elements also correct field curvature, ensuring edge-to-edge resolution while maintaining a compact and practical lens design.
